The Georgia Supreme Court has passed an order substantially revising the rules for the use of interpreters in proceedings. These amended and revised rules, now titled Rules for Legal Interpreting in the State of Georgia, set forth comprehensive, specific requirements for obtaining a license to act as an interpreter in a court proceeding as well as specific guidelines for courts in need of an interpreter. These rules become effective 1 January 2024. Read the new rules here.
